2021 Mazda CX30 - How To - Driver’s Information Screen and Infotainment System
The Drivers Information Screen
The set up here is quite simple, there are not a lot of extra’s but it does contain all the basics for driving. The dash is set up to look like 3 analogue gauges but the middle one is digital (except for the silver ring around it) and has two additional digital displays, one on either side of it.
The center one, which is digital, houses all the basic displays such as cruise control, Lane Keeping Assist, Safety Systems, Avg. MPG, and a compass. The left digital display (just to the left of the center display) shows the menu as you toggle through the displays, but mostly it is set to display your average and instant MPG. The average MPG’s will show up as an orange arrow. To the immediate right of the center display you get a digital Miles-Till-Empty display and an outside temperature display.
The Infotainment System
The screen itself is an 8.8” screen. It is not a touch screen. It has a 12 speaker Bose audio system. It has wired Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, AM/FM, Sirius XM, Bluetooth and a built in Navigation system.
Since it is not a touch screen there is a controller with some dedicated shortcut buttons located in the center console that controls the screen.
In the screen itself, there are 5 categories of information: 1. Information, 2. Entertainment, 3. Communication, 4. Navigation, and 5. Settings.
Under Information you have access to things like a Fuel Efficiency Monitor graph, the Sirius XM Travel link, and a Vehicle Status Monitor.
Under Entertainment you of course have all your audio sources and sound adjustments.
Under Communication you will have all your phone stuff including text messaging, call history etc. You also get access to Mazda’s Road Side Assistance here.
Under Navigation is where you’ll find all your Navigation settings, like which POI (Points of interest) that you want showing up on your map, plus routing details like do you wish to avoid toll roads etc.
Finally under Settings you have quite a few things. You can adjust In-Vehical Displays, adjust the Sound Settings, adjust the Safety Settings (like how much of a warning do you want with the Forward Collision Warning System), Vehicle Settings, and Connectivity settings.
Over all, although the Drivers Information Screen is quite simple, the Infotainment
Screen has much more depth to it and allows you to adjust a myriad of things on your vehicle.
