The Drivers Information Screen
The Drivers Information Screen (D.I.S.) is half digital and half analog. While the Speedometer on the right along with the Engine Temp and Fuel gauges are mostly analog, the left half of the screen including the RPM gauge is fully digital.
To control the information in the D.I.S., you use the controls on the left side of the steering wheel. Specifically the scrolling wheel, the Home Button, and the Back Button. The layout is simple, all of the main menus are contained within the RPM Gauge and are easily scrolled through. A simple click of the scrolling wheel functions as the OK button.
Plenty of menus are available, Tach, Range and Fuel, Speed and Time, Audio, Phone, Navigation, Traffic Signs, Driving Support, Driver Attention, Rear Seat Reminder, Maintenance, Safety Support, and finally warnings - all easily and quickly accessible.
Over all the new D.I.S. is very well designed, packed full of information, and easy to figure out.
The Infotainment System
The Screen itself is an 8 inch screen, and yes, there are now physical buttons once again on the sides of the screen. These buttons include Home, Back, Skip Forward/Backward, Power/Volume, Map, Phone, Audio, Source, and Tune/Scroll.
The sound component is a 430 watt 10 speaker system, and has a good sound.
The Infotainment System has Wireless Apple CarPlay, Wireless Android Auto, AM/FM/HD Radio, Sirius XM, Bluetooth, a 4G LTE Wifi hotspot, and built in Navigation.
Overall the system was fairly responsive, and contained the usual assortment of various apps that we have come to expect on a new car. The physical buttons are a huge deal and it was so nice to see them back.
