History of the Pan Car - 1919 Model A Pan Car

History of the Pan Car - 1919 Model A Pan Car

The 1919 Model A Pan Car was a 5 passenger Touring Car. The company was founded in 1917 by Samuel Conner Pandolfo under the name Pan Motor Company, and was closed by 1922 due to legal and financial issues.  Although the charges against the officers of Pan Motor Company were eventually dropped, Sam Pandolfo himself was found guilty and served 3 years in Leavenworth Prison.  The company attempted to continue, even making parts for other car manufacturers, but was officially closed in 1922.  Sam Pandolfo later passed away in Alaska in 1960, but in 2011, he was reburied in St. Cloud, MN.  Pandolfo’s office building and Sheet Metal Works building are now on the National Register of Historic Places.  Many of the homes and the Drop Forge Plant built by the Pan Motor Company still exist today in St. Cloud, MN.
