The Drivers Information Screen
The screen is mostly analogue with a smaller 4.3 inch digital screen running vertically in the center. The main menu icons are shown at the top, and then if there is more than just 1 page of information under that particular menu, it will show you a bar on the right of the screen, indicating you can scroll up or down to view more pages. The main menu icons are Information, Safety, Messages/Warnings, and Settings.
The set up is controlled via the arrow buttons, back button, OK button (button in the middle with a dot on it) that are found on the right hand side of the steering wheel. There is an additional Menu Page button found on the same side just below the arrows that allows you to bring up any of the available pages in the Drivers Information Screen with just one push of a button.
Now Toyota has had this same system for many years, and it has, at this point, already received a much needed update. While the system is fairly straight forward and easy to operate, because it is an older software system, it has the tendency to bury information, deep inside sub menus. Anytime that occurs, it makes it much harder for drivers to find and use that information. Other than that, it is a straight forward easy to operate system.
The Infotainment System
The infotainment screen is 8 inches as measured diagonally, and although fairly well equipped in terms of what it offers drivers, suffers from a dated look. The color schemes are quite bleak, and there is little color (other than when you use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The system offers AM, FM, Sirius XM and HD radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (both are a wired connection via USB), Bluetooth, and Voice Command. Navigation was not on this particular trim level.
There are plenty of Driving and Media options through the system and it is also capable of Amazon Alexa, but that is something additional that would need to be set up via your phone. One of the great things (if you use it) is Toyota's scheduled maintenance reminders that you can set up in the Infotainment system, arguably one of the most comprehensive systems in the business, as it encompasses everything an owner would need reminders for.
Overall a good system, but in need of an update ( which it did get)
