The Diamond: Pete’s Untouched ’61 Impala

When Pete spotted this 1961 Chevrolet Impala Convertible on Craigslist, he didn’t just find a car—he found a time capsule. Bought for only $5,000 from a grandson’s garage in northern Minnesota, this Impala is 100% original, right down to the factory mats, sea foam green interior, and Felix Chevrolet dealer badge. The car still runs, drives, and turns heads everywhere it goes—and yes, Pete even got offered $20,000 for it the same day he bought it.

In this episode, Two Guys and a Ride chats with Pete about his once-in-a-lifetime barn find that never needed restoration. From electric windows to the original steering wheel and bias-ply spare, this Impala Convertible is the definition of survivor. Pete calls it his “diamond,” and for good reason—it’s starred in a movie, outsmarted a few buyers, and still wears its sea foam green paint with pride.
